"They did this to her. You know that. So, why aren’t you saying something?”

East Berlin, 1966. Still reeling from the death of his father, Audwin Weber spends his days going to college and caring for his mother at home. By night, he secretly transcribes the words of better men from forbidden books smuggled into the city by his closest friend, Franz.
Torn between keeping his family safe and making a difference to his city, Audwin must decide who he can trust, before secrets are discovered and everything falls apart.

Written by Manningtree's Eilish Mullane and directed by Colchester's Ollie Harrington, this gripping new play explores how loyalties are tested when betrayal is deadly, and what happens when truth, art and (worst of all) love, have to be hidden, even from ourselves.
