Lost Dolls

Penny Peach Performing Arts

Colchester, UNITED KINGDOM - ENGLAND
Welcome to ChaseCliff High, the school where hope goes to die and the Ofsted reports are used as kindling.
It’s the middle of the summer holidays, but for ten of the county’s most "academically creative" misfits, the break is over before it began. They’ve been handed a final, brutal ultimatum: pass a GCSE Drama intensive in one week, or prepare to repeat Year 11 for the rest of eternity. The task? Staging Henrik Ibsen’s A Doll’s House. On paper, it’s a classic. In reality, it’s a recipe for a total breakdown.
With the actual staff either sipping sangria or having collective nervous collapses, the school's "a bit crap" Headteacher has found a cost-effective solution. He’s handed the fate of the school’s 10 biggest rejects to Miss Julia, an overachieving A-Level student with a point to prove and a ring of ten heavy keys clipped to her belt. She’s the Puppet Master, and these students are her dolls.
It should be a piece of cake - or a macaroon, for those who know their subtext. But as the heat rises inside the stifling drama studio, the parallels between the play and their lives begin to scream. These aren't just students playing parts; they are individuals trapped by their reputations, their zip codes, and a school system that’s already written them off.
The pressure is at its maximum, the door is firmly locked, and the "slam" heard 'round the world is about to get a very modern, Essex-style remix. As friendships are tested and secrets are dragged into the spotlight, only one question remains: when the final curtain falls, who is actually going to walk out of the door, and who is staying trapped inside?
In this reimagined dark comedy, the stakes are high, the futures are bleak, and the drama is far more real than anything Ibsen ever wrote.
