Inspired by Andrew Bovell's "Things I Know to be True", this story explores the life of Poppy, who has been solo travelling Europe for the last three months. Lonely and longing for excitement, she meets a young man at a nightclub in Berlin, who sweeps her into his crazy world. Obsessed by his attention and the fun that he brings into her un-eventful life, Poppy's naivety fools her into making some questionable decisions as she falls hard for his good looks and charming behaviour. All is going well, Poppy is happy, she feels that everything in her life is finally fitting into place - until Poppy learns a secret that Lucas has been hiding. Desperate to forgive and move on, we watch as Poppy begins to lose herself along the way.
The play sheds light on some difficult themes, ones that very much link to our modern day society. Exploring themes of consent and delving deeper into what it really means is very much at the forefront.
