Banjo Mortis-Thoughts on a G-String

Suzy Cramer Music

COLCHESTER, UNITED KINGDOM - ENGLAND
Banjo Mortis-Thoughts on a G-String- is a one woman, one banjo collection of off-the-wall songs, personal stories and thoughts on life and people-watching, by Colchester based singer-songwriter and banjo queen, Suzy Cramer.

Honest, Witty, Acerbic, Never Knowingly Underdressed!!

This show has very little to do with traditional banjo styles and even less to do with pointlessly uncomfortable tiny underwear.

Suzy's original songs are funny, sad and quirky in equal measures-they sometimes include elements about growing up, struggling with health, weight, feelings of isolation and awkwardness, and overcoming demons via hard work, passion, sheer nerve and just blatantly winging it until you believe it...or maybe you don't....!

In this one-off show, Suzy knits together some of her more narrative and highly personal songs with some never previously revealed stories about their background, her thoughts on life, people and places and even imparts a bit of musical and technical detail about her banjo accompaniment!! Something for everyone!! Who knows.... you might come away with a desire to go out and buy a banjo!!

Suzy came to music later in life, and over the last 15 years or so has learned to play several instruments, and to read and write music to Grade 8 (pop) standard. She is passionate about words, lyrics and other languages, which can pop up unexpectedly in her songs!

Suzy has carved out a niche for herself as a local solo live performer, and is also the lead vocalist and mandolin player in Balkan Gypsy and European Music Band, Balkan Hill. (conveniently named after Colchester's ancient Balkerne Gate...).

Suzy is not so much a magpie, but more of a raven.... ever-so-slightly obsessed with vintage and gothic clothing, and can be easily distracted by a rogue velvet tailcoat or an ornate chandelier!
